Kourwéogo/Religion: A new mosque for the village of Taon (Niou)

Ouagadougou: The village of Taon, located in the commune of Niou, has had a new mosque built since Friday July 5, 2024, thanks to the support of one of its sons, wishing to offer Muslims a place of adoration and cohesion.

The village of Taon located in the commune of Niou has a brand new mosque. The inauguration of the religious building took place on Friday July 5, 2024.

On the occasion, the Muslim faithful from various localities of the country, members of the Muslim Community of Burkina Faso (CMBF), nationals of Taon… dressed in beautiful clothes came to take part in the inaugural prayer officiated by the imam, Adama Nabalam.

At a cost of nearly 15,000,000 million CFA francs, the construction of the ‘House of Allah’ in Taon is the work of El Hadj Saïdou Sawadogo, son of Taon, resident in Abidjan, in Ivory Coast.

‘Each time, during our visits to the village, the problem of a place of prayer comes up repeatedly in the discussions. This is why we decided to build this mosque so that people can pray peac
efully and in good conditions,’ said El Hadj Saïdou Sawadogo.

In addition, he said that God, the Almighty, recommends the Muslim faithful to be builders. It is in accordance with this recommendation that, according to him, he decided to build this mosque so that religion is well consolidated in the Taon community.

El Hadj Sawadogo also said he was satisfied for this great day marking the inauguration of this jewel which materializes the realization of his wish in favor of God.

‘We hope that God will allow us to multiply this type of work within our community,’ he said.

In the new mosque crowded with people, Imam Adama Nabalam first rejoiced at the act of Taon’s son which is in line with divine recommendation.

Then, he hoped that this ‘house of God’ would be a framework for glorifying Allah, for union, for brotherhood among Muslims.

‘We are very happy to have had this mosque. It will allow us to accomplish God’s work,’ proclaimed Imam Nabalam. Finally, the religious guide invited all the faithful to atte
nd this mosque dedicated to them.

Attending the mosque

The Muslim faithful of Taon did not hide their joy for the donor and for this grace of God in their favor. El Hadj Hamed Nabalma, like his co-religionists, thanked his brother El Saïdou Sawadogo for his act which he described as salutary.

While rejoicing at the inauguration of the mosque, he expressed his gratitude to all the people who traveled to Taon to come and support them for the opening of the mosque.

Representing the CMBF, El Hadj Mahamadi Sourwila said he was happy to see this beautiful religious infrastructure enthroned and shined in the village of Taon.

His joy, signified the emissary of the CMBF, is even more immense to see the populations happy to celebrate this new mosque.

‘It is truly a great work for the glory of God. Because, a mosque in addition to being a place of worship to get closer to God is a place of cohesion for all. It is of great interest and importance for all the faithful,’ said the CMBF representative, El Hadj Mahamadi
Sourwila. He invited the faithful of Taon and consequently of the entire commune of Niou to attend this place of worship. After the inaugural prayer, all the faithful made ‘duas’ for the land of upright men.
