The attorney general of the Military Justice of Brazil, António Duarte, highlighted this Thursday, in Luanda, the importance of the partnership with the Angolan counterpart for the enrichment of the preliminary draft of the Military Penal Code and the Angolan Code of Criminal Procedure.
The Brazilian magistrate was speaking at the end of a meeting with Angolan deputies from the 1st and 2nd specialized work commissions of the National Assembly.
António Duarte said that the exchange between the two institutions has been positive not only in the elaboration of these two legal instruments, but also in the training of magistrates of the Military Attorney General of Angola.
He emphasized that the agreement they have had in the legal area involves permanent cooperation in the collaboration in the preparation and discussion of themes related to military law and the continuous and permanent training of public prosecutors and judicial magistrates.
He said that it is from good laws ‘that come from serious, responsible and balanced discussions in the Parliament of Angola, that this country will have a happier and much more stable destiny from the production of norms that can be parameters of orderly coexistence, for all the Angolan people’.
On the other hand, the vice-president of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the AN, António Paulo, underlined the importance of this cooperation, which will allow to collect more subsidies for the enrichment of the preliminary draft of the Military Penal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code of Angola.
“It was a very positive meeting because we had the opportunity to receive updated information on the partnership between the PGR of Angola and the Military Prosecutor’s Office in Brazil’, he clarified.
He added that, in addition to the agreement between the parties, which already dates back some time, they received information on the recent work being carried out within the framework of the work of the PGR of Angola, for the revision of the Military Penal Law and the Military Procedural Law.
